Unethical and cheap sales tactics of Airtel Mobile
This is with reference to the 4G LTE dongle I purchased on 06.06.2015 from Airtel through its representative Mr. Santosh (Acknowledgement ref #MUPD239814) by paying Rs.1500/- towards cost of dongle and duly furnishing PAN copy, address proof and passport size photograph.
Mr. Santosh gave me SIM Card No.8991921598902159335U and informed that 4G service will be activated in 4 hours and I would also get an intimation on my mobile number 9870448584.
I wanted to let prospective and existing customers of Airtel mobile broadband services my bitter experience with their inefficient, ineffective and unprofessional customer services.
The problem started since then. I waited for 5 hours and the device did not get activated. Escalation to Airtel Customer Service has proved to be futile and they are the most unhelpful lot.
It was not activated till now and Customer Service was demanding for 10 digit data card number, which was not given to me by their representative, to address the matter.
If 10 digit data card number is so important, why the Airtel representative missed it out? Is he not trained? If so why such untrained personnel are deployed by Airtel for sales?
Is this the way Airtel tries to capture the mobile market by duping customers?
May I request DOT take cognizance of this type of cheap marketing tactics
Till the time this mail is sent to you, the 4G data card is not activated and not functional.
